Flute Weekends

Regular flute weekends with leading performers, teachers and composers are organised by Flautissimo's Chairman Sarah Heard. The usual format involves two days of workshops at Winchester Cathedral - one for Grades 3-5 players and another for Grades 6+ (the second workshop is suitable for and well attended by post grade 8 players too) - along with an evening recital by the artist.

Please check back here for upcoming events, or contact Sarah Heard to be added to the flute weekend mailing list.

Paul Edmund-Davies, Sarah Newbold and Ian McLauchlan - Saturday 24th March 2012

On 24th March we are holding a flute day unlike those that have been before. The day promises to be very helpful and inspiring for flautists of all standards and ages. Grade 3+ are welcome from 10am - 4pm, tickets are £25. A shorter afternoon session will run for beginners to grade 3 standard from 2pm - 4pm and will cost £10. Come along for a flute frenzy with two of the UK's leading flautists and educators, plus Europe’s Award-Winning largest supplier of flutes and flute music will be on-site with their specialist flute repairer and instrument maker. Pick and choose from a selection of classes and have fun with your flute!

The finale at the end of the day will be when all the workshop participants perform a couple of pieces they have learnt. This will take place at 5pm and all friends and family are invited. There will also be an opportunity to see Sarah and Paul performing. Tickets are £5 unless you are attending the workshops.

For extra information or to book please take a look at the information and booking sheet, or contact Flautissimo chairman Sarah Heard.
